Committed to increasing the visibility and accessibility of contemporary art while bridging the gap between the art world and global culture in Brooklyn, the 2010-1011 season will present eight exhibitions.

Brooklyn, NY— BRIC Arts | Media | Bklyn and partner school P.S. 119 the Magnet School of Global and Ethical Studies are pleased to be one of the final collection points in the Fundred Dollar Project’s nationwide initiative in support of a solution to the hidden lead problem in New Orleans. To collect student-made Fundred Dollar Bills, an armored truck powered by used vegetable oil from partner school cafeterias has been traveling 20,000 miles across the country since January, 2010. The truck will come to Brooklyn Tuesday, June 8 at 9am at Amersfort Park by P.S. 119. Fundred creator, renowned artist and activist Mel Chin, will be at the event. The collected Fundreds will be presented to the U.S. Congress with a request for real funding to make safe lead-polluted soils in New Orleans.

Brooklyn, NY—BRIC Arts | Media | Bklyn is pleased to present INvent/Onsite: The 22nd Annual BRIC Contemporary Art Education Exhibition of student artwork. The exhibition is curated by Hawley Hussey, BRIC’s Director of Contemporary Art Education. Artwork by students from 11 Brooklyn Public Schools is represented, featuring site-specific installations by student groups. The exhibition will be on view May 20 – June 12, 2010 with an opening reception on May 19 from 6-8 pm.

BRIC Arts | Media | Bklyn is pleased to announce the 2010 Brooklyn Arts in Education Roundtable Series. The Roundtable events are open to artists, educators, administrators, parents, funders, and anyone else invested in New York's Arts in Education community. The series is supported by the New York State Council on the Arts as a part of the regional roundtable program. Roundtables will be led by BRIC’s Director of Contemporary Art Education Hawley Hussey and BRIC Contemporary Art Educator Angela Earley. All programs take place at BRIC Rotunda Gallery, 33 Clinton Street in Brooklyn Heights, the contemporary art space of BRIC Arts | Media | Bklyn.
