Program Description
Originally called 'the high sandy bank' by the Lenape Native Americans, Brooklyn Heights is a historic district that is scenically picturesque and brimming with culture. Brooklyn Heights boasts a number of historically iconic and celebrity residents from Walt Whitman and Truman Capote to Marilyn Monroe and Bob Dylan. It is the home of such sensational landmarks as the Plymouth Church of The Pilgrims, which housed a leg of the Underground Railroad, the Brooklyn Historical Society, and the always pictorial Brooklyn Promenade.
Neighborhood Beat is a series featuring Brooklyn's diverse neighborhoods. The programs are produced and directed by neighborhood reps.
