Program Description
Prospect Heights is the stunning neighborhood north of Prospect Park, bounded by Flatbush Avenue to the west, Atlantic Avenue to the north, Eastern Parkway to the south, and Washington Avenue to the east. The neighborhood is known for its picturesque brownstones and tree lined streets, is slated to become the city's 97th historic district, and is said to be the "Gold Coast of Brooklyn" because of its intriguing assemblage of cultural institutions that include the Brooklyn Museum of Art, the main branch of the Brooklyn Public Library and the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. Home to local favorites like Franklin Park on St. John's Place, and the nostalgically cool Washington Avenue diner Tom's, its hip, historic, and culturally diverse atmosphere along with its proximity to convenient transportation make it a popular destination point.
