Like many of Brooklyn's neighborhoods, Williamsburg and Greenpoint stand on the shoulders of their rich history and diverse ethnic influences. Physically, Greenpoint sits at the northern most part of Brooklyn with Williamsburg to its south. Together, the two neighborhoods played a major role in the borough's industrial center which by the 1890's, helped to make Brooklyn the fourth largest producer of goods. When you take a look at these neighborhoods today, it's hard to miss the industrial look and feel of the terrain and wonder about its history. Its borders encompass many cultures, traditions, religions — and, of course, stories of the past and present.
