Founded in 1981, BRIC Rotunda Gallery began in the Rotunda of Brooklyn Borough Hall before moving to the War Memorial at Cadman Plaza. In 1993, the current location at 33 Clinton Street opened in a new gallery space designed by architects Smith-Miller + Hawkinson. Cited by the NYC Chapter of the AIA for its outstanding design, the 1,600 square-foot gallery is a flexible space with moveable walls, a catwalk, and a Project Room. Architects Henry Smith-Miller and Laurie Hawkinson were honored for their work at the 2007 Benefit in support of BRIC Arts|Media|Bklyn’s contemporary art program.
