The Registry is going online!
Founded in 1983, the BRIC Contemporary Artist Registry is Brooklyn’s oldest visual artist registry, and one of its largest; it includes the portfolios of over 1,000 visual artists who were born in, live in, work in, or have a studio in the borough of Brooklyn.
We are currently designing an online registry, scheduled to go live in March 2010. The registry will remain open to all Brooklyn-affiliated artists and will be free to join and use. The new, web-based registry will allow artists to take control of every aspect of their online Artist File, including uploading and updating images and information at their convenience. Anyone from around the world will be able to browse and search the online registry using any combination of media, keywords, and Brooklyn neighborhoods. With a free membership, users will be able to save and keep track of their favorite artists and images, email registry artists, and email direct links to Artist Files to friends.
If you have a file in our current registry, we will contact you soon to ask you to resubmit electronically. If we do not have your current contact information on file, please email us at rotunda@bricartsmedia.org with your updated information. Any physical materials in our files that are more than three years old will be discarded by June 1, 2010.
We are no longer accepting new registry submissions by mail. Please check back in March to learn how to upload your materials digitally. If you would like to be notified when the online registry goes up, please email rotunda@bricartsmedia.org.
