The Lori Ledis Emerging Curator Program fosters emerging curatorial talent by an open call process for exhibition proposals. Twice annually, BRIC Contemporary Art dedicates the Project Room at BRIC Rotunda Gallery and staff support to realizing the vision of two emerging curators who are selected through a competitive selection process. The curators chosen to develop their proposals into exhibitions are each awarded the Lori Ledis Curatorial Fellowship, an award established through the donations of family, friends, and professional associates of Lori Ledis, a pioneering art dealer and music producer.
The Lori Ledis Curatorial Fellowship funds thematic group exhibitions of contemporary art. Please view the Project Room layout (link below) for information on the gallery's physical dimensions. Successful proposals will generally contain the work of 4 to 6 artists. Artworks may be in any visual media and the majority of artists must have a Brooklyn affiliation (live, work, or were born in the borough).

A jury comprised of the BRIC Contemporary Art staff, and members of our Artist Advisory Committee, will review proposals. Two finalists will be chosen to curate an exhibition to be presented in the Project Room during the 2009–2010 exhibition season. Each finalist is awarded a $800 honorarium and will be named a Lori Ledis Curatorial Fellow.
