Twice annually, BRIC’s Contemporary Art exhibition program dedicates its Project Room at BRIC Rotunda Gallery to presenting exhibitions developed under the auspices of the Lori Ledis Emerging Curator Program. We support the realization and vision of two emerging curators who are chosen through a competitive selection process and named a Lori Ledis Emerging Curatorial Fellow. The Program funds thematic group exhibitions of contemporary art focusing on Brooklyn artists.
The Lori Ledis Emerging Curator Program was established through the donations of family, friends, and professional associates in the memory of Lori Ledis, a pioneering Brooklyn art dealer and music producer.

Selection Process and Criteria

Applicants must be based in New York. We cannot consider applications from individuals based outside the New York area, or from students.
Please submit only one proposal. We will consider collaborative proposals, but the honorarium will be shared among the curators.
In 2011-12, the selection committee will consider especially strong proposals for presentation in BRIC Rotunda Gallery’s main space. If we select a proposal for this expanded presentation, we will increase the curatorial honorarium to provide the chosen curator with additional time to expand the exhibition.
To apply, please submit a proposal, resume, and samples of artists' work. Successful projects generally contain the work of 4 to 6 artists; because of space limitations please include no more than 6 artists. Artwork may be in any visual media and the majority of artists must have a Brooklyn affiliation (live, work, or were born in the borough).
