Cuban-born sculptor, Alvaro Garcia, will construct his first site-specific installation for the Rotunda Gallery. Garcia, a sculptor who often works with found objects, enjoys materials that are weathered and changed by time and use, including sheet tin ceilings and wooden construction palettes. In the center of the room, a metal oil-filled boat-form will act as a reflective element. Other elements of the work will articulate the corners of the space and reflect the architectural forms of the exterior of the Gallery.
