Requiem for a Blue Fluid

February 28-April 6, 1991

Eve Andree Laramee is known for her elegant site-specific sculptural installations which often use natural material to reference landscape forms. As with much of her work, The Rotunda Gallery installation will record the change of matter from one state to another— a 3 inch spark produced by a conduction coil symbolizing the creation of life from inert matter. A large mound of broken cobalt blue glass will provide the focal point of the darkened installation, which will explore the concepts of communication and miscommunication; listening and voicelessness inspired by the Gallery’s presence in the Brooklyn War Memorial.
