This exhibition of original watercolors and paintings by Brooklyn children’s book illustrators will feature work by Leo and Diane Dillon, Melanie Hope Greenberg, Ezra Jack Keats, Ken Rush, Kris Waldherr and Paul O. Zelinsky. A wide range of stylistic approaches are included, from the elegant restraint of the Dillons to the exuberant playfulness of Melanie Hope Greenberg. Ken Rush’s urban realities are balanced by the delicacy of Kris Waldherr’s lyrical watercolors for Rapunzel. The exhibition includes illustrations from contemporary classics such as Paul Zelinsky’s The Wheels on the Bus, and works by Ezra Jack Keats.
