November 12 & 13, 1996
Continuing the Gallery’s initiative in the field of contemporary design which began last year with DESIGN BROOKLYN, an exhibition of furniture designers and makers, this two-day event will feature work by contemporary jewelry makers. Included are Anita and Steve Vaubel, whose contemporary metalwork in silver, gold and brass range from elegant to playful; Sarah Einstein/ Tina Silverman Studio, who are known for their stunning combinations of antique and contemporary beads and amulets; Elke Kuhn Moore’s whose sculptural clay pieces are brightly colored and vividly patterned; and Lorelei Hamm, whose work is inspired by machine parts, architecture and industrial forms. The artists represented display a broad range of forms, media and aesthetics. Jewelers will be on hand to discuss their work in an informal studio environment.
