AIMEE MANN, whom NPR named one the 10 best living songwriters, is at the height of her powers: her mostly-acoustic 2017 record Mental Illness is her "quintessential statement, tempering the discord of life with elegant chamber-folk." (Pitchfork) Since the early '90s she has steadily built a remarkable catalogue that includes nine studio albums and countless special projects, always anchored by her contemplative lyrics and gorgeous, lilting melodies. Her original contributions to the soundtrack of Paul Thomas Anderson's masterpiece Magnolia earned her both GRAMMY and Academy Award nominations.
The indie punk legends SUPERCHUNK co-headline, riding a wave of momentum generated by their 2018 release, What a Time to Be Alive, a snarling polemic against our current political moment. The band's punk-influenced DIY ethos led members Mac McCaughan and Laura Ballance to found an independent label in 1989 to release their own music, and that label, Merge Records, went on to stratospheric success with classic releases by Neutral Milk Hotel, the Magnetic Fields, and Arcade Fire, among others.
