After 37 years in Manhattan, IFP’s signature event, IFP Film Week is moving across the river to Brooklyn! As a part of this year’s celebration of Brooklyn, BRIC FLIX teams up with IFP (Independent Filmmaker Project) during IFP Film Week for an evening focusing on all expansive forms of storytelling and the definition of a filmmaker in today’s modern age featuring BRIC TV’s Executive Producer, Aziz Isham on the panel and many more.

ABOUT BRIC FLIX 
BRIC FLIX is a free film conversation and screening series at BRIC House. Offering film shorts, works-in-progress, and web series projects that reflect the excitement, diversity, and creativity of the borough— BRIC FLIX is where Brooklyn comes for film.

Each screening is followed by a discussion with the filmmakers, artists, curators and more.

Managing Editor & Head of Community

Emily Buder is the Managing Editor of No Film School. Before that, she was at Indiewire, where she spent two years covering the film industry conducting interviews, writing feature profiles on filmmakers, reviewing films, attending and speaking on panels, and managing Indiewire's social media. Previously, she worked as a Creative Executive at Paper Street Films, where she discovered and developed the Sundance hit and Independent Spirit Award nominee "Infinitely Polar Bear."

Ingrid Jungermann
, creator, F to 7th
Along with several short films, Ingrid co-created the web series The Slope, and created the WGA-Nominated web series F To 7th,  featuring Amy Sedaris, Michael Showalter, Gaby Hoffmann, Olympia Dukakis and Janeane Garofalo. Her work has screened at various film festivals around the world, including the Tribeca Film Festival, Rotterdam International Film Festival, Los Angeles Film Festival, Outfest and Frameline. Ingrid was one of Filmmaker Magazine’s 25 Faces of Independent Film, Out Magazine's 100 People of the Year and Go Magazine's 100 Women We Love. 

Aziz Isham, Executive Producer, BRIC TV
Aziz Isham is a filmmaker, publisher and digital media specialist, and the co-founder of ArcadeSunshine Media, reKiosk and GoodFight Media. He has produced and developed documentary series for History, Discovery Channel, A&E, National Geographic along with several independent and feature projects. He is currently the Executive Producer of BRIC TV, a non-profit cable and news channel focusing on stories on and about Brooklyn. His essays have been published in The Huffington Post and Digital Book World, and he has been a featured speaker at NYU, DocSummit, MediaBistro, and DC Week and was a faculty member at CUNY Publishing Institute. He lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.

Chris Kelly, director, Other People
Chris Kelly is currently in his fifth season at Saturday Night Live, where he serves as the show’s co-head writer and has been nominated for five Emmy awards. He is also a writer and consulting producer on Comedy Central’s Broad City. Previously, he has been a staff writer and director at Funny or Die and won a Peabody Award for his work as a writer/director at The Onion News Network.

Jessie Komitor, creator, People of New York
Jessie graduated from NYU Tisch School of the Arts with a BFA in Drama. She has trained at Upright Citizen’s Brigade as well as Commedia d’el Arte with Jim Calder and Committed Impulse with Josh Pais. Jessie is the creator and star of the hit new web series People of New York, which Marie Claire calls “the new female-driven comedy series you're about to be obsessed with.”  It is currently being developed into a 30-minute comedy series. Jessie’s work has received critical acclaim from Entertainment Weekly, People, The Huffington Post, Refinery29, TimeOut NY, Marie Claire and Glamour.  

Chioke Nassor, writer, Late Night with Seth Meyers
Chioke Nassor is a human person who writes and directs for film, TV, and the web.  His previous work includes writing and directing short films for NBC's Late Night with Seth Meyers, the feature film How to Follow Strangers, the TV on the Radio Documentary "Minor/Major" and his web series Chioke Nassor's Storytime. Most recently Mr. Nassor wrote and directed episodes of the upcoming MTV show "Loosely Exactly Nicole" starring Nicole Byer. He is currently working working on a pilot for Comedy Central and is not as tall as his IMDB says he is.

Venue Information:

The Stoop at BRIC House is a public cultural gathering space featuring free, drop-in programming, and offering a place to sit, observe, and participate in multi-disciplinary work.
