Emerging Creators is BRIC’s yearly student exhibition celebrating the work of young artists and media makers from BRIC's Youth Education Residency Programs in public schools and community centers across Brooklyn and beyond. This year’s student exhibition showcases a selection of the work created by over 800 young artists. BRIC teaching artists partner with more than 40 schools and 12 community-based organizations every year, located across 23 Brooklyn neighborhoods, to deliver quality arts education.
Emerging Creators is a platform for youth voices exploring diverse topics including community, identity, activism, and current events. Our young artists experimented in a wide range of media, including: mosaic, mixed media, painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, podcasting, animation, and filmmaking, to produce artworks that explored the issues and events shaping the post-pandemic world.
BRIC House is a one-stop shop for emerging creators and equips its partners to innovate and document the artistic growth of our youth. The mission of the Youth Education & Family Programs Department is to work with underserved communities and under-resourced schools to nurture creativity while providing accessibility to media education, technology, equipment, and career exploration. This exhibition embodies the creative courage, thoughtfulness, and resiliency of the youth.

ABOUT BRIC YOUTH EDUCATION
For over three decades, BRIC has been a pioneer in providing exceptional art education to public school students throughout Brooklyn. BRIC’s Youth Education program is distinguished by the involvement of professional artists and media makers, who bring their individual professional practices into the classroom via in-school residencies that introduce new ways of learning through a project-based approach. Programs are tailored to the needs of each individual classroom and aligned to local and state educational standards. For more information, please email education@bricartsmedia.org.
