The BRIClab: Bridge Space aims to support emerging visual artists with a 10-month program including workspace and professional development to advance their artistic careers. Artist applications are received through an open call and chosen by BRIClab program managers.
Available Spaces
Through Bridge Space, artists will rent studio space within a first-class commercial building in DUMBO, Brooklyn.
5 semi-private studios are located in 2 spaces in a landmarked, industrial loft building that includes numerous artist studios. The commercial building has shared amenities for all tenants, including communal conference rooms, roof decks, Mother’s room, and bike storage. Available spaces are equipped for high-speed data, and have windows, air conditioning, and heat.

170 RSF studios at 16 x 11 feet
Semi-private studios have one permanent wall, two 8’ partition walls, and one movable fourth wall with 4’ opening for the door

Eligibility
The program is open to New York City area artists 21 years or older; not currently enrolled full time in an educational institution; and not a previous BRIClab or BRIC workspace resident.
License Agreement Terms
- The BRIClab: Bridge Space offers a sliding scale rate of $400-500 per month for a 10-month agreement based on studio size.
- License agreements granted will be for up to 10 months. There is no renewal option.
- Renters must maintain an active professional fine arts practice. The space may not be used for storage or sublet to other groups or individuals
- Use of highly toxic chemicals, welding, or high-powered electrical equipment is prohibited.
- Renters will be respectful of other studio residents in the space and keep loud noise to a minimum.
- Conducting illegal activities is grounds for immediate termination
- Living in commercial spaces is strictly prohibited.
- Artist residents agree to participate in DUMBO Open Studios.
