B Free Awards 2014
It’s BRIC first ever B Free Awards! We decided it was time to celebrate what makes Brooklyn Free Speech Television programming unique, original, momentous, and AWESOME. This year, producers have shared, with the Brooklyn community, half a million hours of programs. HALF A MILLION HOURS!
We’ve rolled out the red carpet for the dedicated producers who share these programs that showcase Brooklyn's talent, address needs in the community, and embody free speech. It was a full house at BRIC, filled with joy, appreciation, humility, and FUN; a night to remember as the first B Free Awards in history!

It wouldn't be an award ceremony without a red carpet, which was hosted by Aaron Watkins, host of BRIC TV's BK Live and Fred Brown, correspondent with BRIC TV.

The ceremony was hosted by Amar Taborn, producer of “The Love We World Tour” and Lee Eddy, Associate Director of Partnerships for Community Media at BRIC. Gloria Woods’ stellar rendition of the National Anthem gave goosebumps to the whole room and set the tone for a very special night.

The Honorable Eric Adams, Brooklyn Borough President, graced us with his presence and shared his perspective on Brooklyn being the center of the Universe, quoting one of the greatest philosophers of our days; Drake’s famous line “started from the bottom now we here”. Kelly Tsai delivered her powerful poem “Weapons of Mass Creation” followed by a screening of her 360° Spoken Word video #SelfCentered.
