BRIC's safety measures

Proof of vaccination is now required for entry into BRIC House. For more information, please head here.

The cascading rows of gray, concrete steps known as “the Stoop” has been home to many activities at BRIC House. At various times it has served as:

  • A gathering space for families during our House Parties.
  • A place to wait for a friend before viewing the latest exhibition in our Contemporary Art Gallery.
  • An impromptu dance floor during Brooklyn Poetry Slam
  • An official after-school hangout spot for Brooklyn Tech students.

And for the past three years, Stoop Share

Stoop Share is a BRIC initiative that provides neighboring non-profits the opportunity to utilize our unique venue and production resources for their mission-advancing public programs, presentations, and meetings. Since its inception in 2018, Stoop Share has partnered with organizations such as Center for Supportive Schools, viBe Theater Experience, Reel Sisters, Myrtle Avenue Brooklyn Partnership, AHRC New York City, and HeartShare to host film screenings, youth open mics, Know Your Rights workshops, theatrical performances, and much more. It has been an absolute pleasure to further BRIC’s commitment to advancing opportunities by sharing BRIC’s resources with all our Stoop Share partners in support of their organizational and programmatic needs.

Since this program was centered on sharing our beloved Stoop, the onset of COVID-19 in the midst of our Spring 2020 season has compelled us to reimagine how Stoop Share can provide support and resources beyond the use of our physical space. As we spoke to our past and current partners about their needs during this time, we realized that we could offer our partners the same level of production support and quality in the digital realm. So, since we are temporarily unable to host events on our Stoop, we are taking our Stoop to the world by hosting our Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 season virtually. We look forward to having national and international audiences experience the amazing work of local organizations dedicated to creating spaces for arts and culture, education, and social justice in our Brooklyn community.

In December, we will host two virtual Stoop Shares, which we invite you to join us at:

We will also host a virtual Stoop Share Info Session on Monday, December 7 at 7PM EST for anyone interested in learning more about the program and how to apply for our Spring 2021 season. For more details and to RSVP, click here

See you on the (virtual) Stoop!
