Artists and Neighbors Unite to re-open Gowanus Houses Community Center
Friday, October 6, 2017 - 4:45PMLast month at BRIC House, Making Gowanus: Theatre of the Liberated premiered their community created multi-media performance, celebrating the arts, creativity and activism in the Gowanus Houses, a NYCHA (New York City Housing Authority) residence. BRIC joins the Making Gowanus team and neighborhood-wide colaition as they petition to re-open the Gowanus Houses Community Center.
Helping Those in Need: Disaster Relief
Wednesday, October 4, 2017 - 10:15AMStrong hurricanes devasted Caribbean countries and parts of the United States as well as Mexico, as a result many people lost their homes and loved ones. BRIC and other organizations are working together to offer disaster relief and accepting donations for the families that were affected by the hurricane.

Jeyifous creates large-scale works examining architecture and its relationship to place and community. Partnering with BRIC, his work will reach new audiences and promote his vision throughtout central Brooklyn.

BRIC Announces Its ArtFP Awardees

With the award, BRIC will support 15 Brooklyn and New York City-based visual artists in creating and presenting exhibitions and/or immersive installations in spaces throughout BRIC House in the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons.
Featured Artist: Rita Leduc
Thursday, August 3, 2017 - 2:15PMBrooklyn-based Rita Leduc is a multimedia artist who uses installation, photography, collage, and drawing to examine the impact of place. Taking a democratic approach in her selection of location, each series embodies what the artist refers to as the “sensorial fingerprint” of each space. Her work has been exhibited internationally, in such places as Trestle Gallery, Public Access Gallery, and The Skirt, all Brooklyn; Wells College, Aurora, NY; and the Nizhny Tagil Museum of Fine Art, Nizhny Tagil, Russia, among others. She has held residencies across the country, and is currently an adjunct professor at the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University and at Ramapo College.
