(BROOKLYN, NY — OCT TK, 2020) BRIC is pleased to announce the programming schedule for its annual Media Maker Weekend, set to take place from October 15 - 17, 2020. The three-day virtual conference—offers free workshops, lectures, and panel discussions designed to educate makers on various aspects of media and content creation, including television, film, and podcasting.

Now in its fifth year, the free conference aims to find new ways for media makers to create and connect while remaining physically distant. This year's media maker weekend will focus on the transformation of media making that creatives and institutions have had to utilize in order to maintain professional opportunities, raise awareness for social advocacy and representation, as well as building community and promoting wellness.

As the Public Access television station for Brooklyn, BRIC’s mission is to level the media playing field so that every human—no matter their economic status, race, or gender—has access to quality film, TV, and podcast education and facilities.

On October 17th, to conclude the Media Maker Weekend programming, BRIC will host its annual B Free Awards. Each year, the live televised event celebrates local journalism and the community-made stories that air on its Brooklyn Free Speech TV and Podcast Network. Hosted by actor and two-time B Free Award-winner, Brandhyze Stanley, and stand-up comic and filmmaker, Brian Enck, the 7th Annual B Free Awards will celebrate the community celebs of BRIC's TV and Podcast Network and award 20 statuettes to content creators.
