(BROOKLYN, NY — November 2, 2021)  BRIC, a leading contemporary, multi-disciplinary arts and media institution anchored in downtown Brooklyn, announced today two key interim hires at the executive level.

Robin Jenkins joins BRIC as the organization’s new Interim President. Jenkins brings almost a decade of nonprofit executive leadership to the position, along with a commitment to social impact, sound business expertise, and a desire to help organizations make the world a better place. Most recently she served as Interim Executive Director at International Women’s Health Coalition (IWHC), an organization that advances the sexual and reproductive health and rights of women and adolescent girls.

Melissa Sandor joins BRIC as Interim Senior Vice President, Development, bringing over 25 years of senior-level strategic and fundraising experience within the arts and social justice fields. As a creative leader and funding strategist, Sandor embodies a philosophy of building long-term donor relationships that are guided by trust, transparency, and deep connection.

Robin Jenkins, Interim President at BRIC, said today:

“I’m thrilled to join an organization with such deep, meaningful roots all throughout Brooklyn’s cultural sector. From the BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn Festival to our residency and artist incubation programs to our teaching artists embedded in public schools around the borough, BRIC is truly an organization that holds its commitment to community service at the heart of everything we do. During my time as Interim President, I plan to both honor that legacy and help imagine new ways for BRIC to build on its transformative work in the years ahead.”

Melissa Sandor, Interim Senior Vice President, Development at BRIC, said today:

“I’m honored to join BRIC during such a pivotal moment in the organization’s history. There’s never been a more crucial time for cultural organizations to center the role of artists in our post-pandemic rebuilding, assess the impact and allocation of our funding streams, and to reaffirm our commitment to racial and social justice. With a dedication to the needs of Brooklyn residents and our NYC neighbors, BRIC will continue to be an important resource as, collectively, we begin to move forward. I am excited to focus on this work.”

Michael Liburd, Board Chair at BRIC, said today:

“Robin and Melissa are the type of executives that BRIC deserves during this period as we continue the search for our next long-term leader. As empathetic and experienced professionals, these two will help us chart the path ahead while carrying on BRIC’s core goals of igniting learning, advancing opportunity, presenting bold work, and building Brooklyn’s creative future. I, and the entire BRIC Board and staff, are thrilled to have them as part of the team.”
