BRIC Stands With Our Black Community

A Letter From Our President:

In this moment of profound reckoning for our country, I'm stunned by having witnessed so brazenly the ongoing consequences of whiteness being weaponized against Black bodies. I grieve for the Black lives taken from us: George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and many others. I'm also pained by the toll COVID-19 has taken on our country, our city, our borough, and our neighbors. KEEP READING >>

If You Want Good...Equity in Community Media

Tuesday, September 8, 2020 - 10:30AM

Now we must prepare ourselves for the difficult conversations, and the unusual efforts to make equity in community media more than a pursuit, we must make unusual efforts to actually be equitable. “If you waan good you nose haffi run”

Juneteenth to Freedom, My Grandmother and Me

Friday, June 19, 2020 - 9:30AM

B Free Awards 2017: Celebrating Women’s Voices

Monday, May 1, 2017 - 1:30PM

Exactly one month ago today, on Saturday, April 1, there was something special in the air. It was different, something reminiscent of creation and celebration, community and achievement, pride and excitement. What was it? It was the 4th Annual B Free Awards, Brooklyn Free Speech’s celebration of the thousands of hours of programming created by its dedicated producers— and it did not disappoint one bit!

The theme of the 2017 B Free Awards was “Celebrating Women’s Voices” and the evening’s signature colors of pink and gold beautifully complemented the various attires. Red carpet hosts Jessica Mason and Angela-Renee Coakley made sure everyone got their “15 minutes of fame” while guests were enjoying the food delicacies.

RADIO IMPORTANTE

Wednesday, March 1, 2017 - 2:00PM
