We interviewed artist Tai Hwa Goh about her installation, Leaks in the hallway of BRIC House. She creates brightly colored, delicately layered installations from hand-printed paper. The title of her installation, Leaks, references the unintended and therefore undesired openings for fluid to escape a container. Leaks can also be seen as the point where the contents of a container and exterior material can be exchanged. For her installation at BRIC, Goh uses BRIC House as a metaphorical body or container of the brimming creative minds of the people that walk its halls and inhabit its spaces. We wanted to know more about her practice as an artist, and the colorful work she created.
We hope you had a chance to see the OPEN (C)ALL: Up for Debate exhibition, which was on view at BRIC House Feb 5-28, 2016.

Dana Kane is a Brooklyn-based visual artist. Driven by a fascination with historical narratives and notions of identity and environment, Kane relies on intuition as a catalyst for her various projects. Her pieces often employ found materials in the creation of colorful and visually engaging abstract compositions. Kane presents the viewer with an emotional depiction of the world around her, referencing both the political and humorous, the moving and the still.

As I walked into the home of artist Sky Vega, winner of the "Viewer's Choice Award" during BRIC's OPEN (C)ALL exhibition, I was shocked by how neat and clean it was. It is difficult to believe that her living room is also her working studio!
Lindsey Wolkowicz is a visual artist whose work primarily lies in drawing, but also utilizes sculpture, video and performance. Through the intersection and interruption of figures and abstracted spatial elements created by lines, color, geometry and planes, her work on paper examines the way the body occupies space. Her three dimensional work is set up in a way to physically connect with the viewer.
Periodically, we review artist profiles in the BRIC Contemporary Artist Registry and select one of exceptional merit to feature.
