BRIC ISSUES RFP FOR FOOD AND BEVERAGE SERVICES

Pioneering NYC Arts-And-Media Organization Seeks Proposals for Opportunities at

BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival at the Prospect Park Bandshell

and

BRIC House in the Downtown Brooklyn Cultural District

BRIC, celebrating 40 years as the leading presenter of free cultural programming in Brooklyn, is seeking inventive and creative proposals to provide and operate food and beverage services seasonally for the BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival at the Prospect Park Bandshell, and at its year-round venue BRIC House (647 Fulton Street, Brooklyn), each of which attract over a hundred thousand visitors annually and are regularly cited as one of the best venues in NYC. Interested parties can submit a proposal for either or both opportunities. The BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival RFP is available here, and the BRIC House RFP is available here.

BRIC incubates and presents creative work that reflects the diversity of New York, across the full spectrum of the performing, visual, and media arts. The BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival is an internationally renowned summer-long performance series that has taken place at the Prospect Park Bandshell each summer since 1979. Chosen as “Best Summer Series” by New York Magazine and Village Voice; and praised by The New York Times as “an ideal urban concert space,” the BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival attracts upwards of 185,000 people during a 10-week/30-event summer season, with average attendance of 6,000 people per show. It has grown to become Brooklyn’s foremost summer cultural attraction, and summer 2019 marks the Festival’s 41st year. Food and beverage service is a key component of the overall character of the Festival, and the successful proposer will gain significant sales and visibility for its brand while elevating the overall visitor experience at the venue.

Jack Walsh, BRIC’s VP of Performing Arts and Executive Producer of the BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival, said: “For 40 years we have advanced the artistic excellence of the BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival through a consistently extraordinary lineup of artists and world-class lighting and sound. We are now looking to elevate the overall experience with exceptional culinary and beverage service. Brooklyn and the wider metropolitan area has exploded with creative entrepreneurs in the hospitality industry, and we are searching for an amazing new partner to help make the Festival simply the best of New York.”

BRIC House, the cultural institution’s year-round and award-winning 40,000SF home in the heart of the downtown Brooklyn Cultural District, hosts more than 150 public events and welcomes over 100,000 visitors each year. BRIC House is “Where Brooklyn Comes Together,” and the food concession is a central element of the building. BRIC wants to work with a concessionaire to re-imagine the space as a fresh, edgy food kiosk or “bodega,” with simple food offerings, service of alcohol, and low overhead. BRIC is open to proposals from food and beverage service providers, retail food establishments, food truck vendors, and others.

Brooklyn food and beverage culture is on the cutting edge of many national trends featuring local, organic, and fresh ingredients prepared using both time-tested and unique methods. The selected operators will make a significant contribution to the visitor experience at each BRIC location, while providing a convenient/creative service to artists and staff.
