Bahareh Khoshooee (she/they)

Khoshooee received her MFA in Studio Art from the University of South Florida. Her work has been featured at Baxter St, Housing Gallery, and the Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts, all in New York, as well as the Beeler Gallery in Columbus, Ohio and the William & Nancy Oliver Gallery in Tampa, FL. She has participated in New York City residencies at Triangle Arts Association, Baxter St. Gallery, and the NARS Foundation.  @khoshooee

Khoshooee is creating a docufiction project (yet to be titled) in collaboration with Replika, an artificial intelligence chatbot, to examine the function of systemic biases within immigration processes administered by AI.

Golnar Adili (she/her)

Adili received her degree in Architecture from the University of Michigan College of Architecture and Urban Planning. Her work has been featured in solo exhibitions at the Fresh Window Gallery and Kentler International Drawing Space, both in Brooklyn, NY; Hudson D Walker Gallery in Provincetown, MA; and Aun Gallery in Tehran, Iran. Aldini has also participated in group exhibitions at the Art Alive Gallery in New Delhi, India; IS Projects in Fort Lauderdale, FL; and Cinders Gallery in NY. @golnar.adili

Inspired by her toddler’s play blocks, Adili creates oversized wood blocks and play modules featuring Brooklyn-based imagery alongside Persian word fragments that reference Adili’s personal history and heritage.

Johannah Herr (she/her)

Herr received her MFA in Sculpture from the Cranbrook Academy of Art in 2016. Herr has had solo exhibitions at the Elijah Wheat Showroom, Geary Contemporary and Brookfield Projects, The New Gallery, and Envoy Enterprises all NY. She currently teaches at Pratt Institute, Parsons School of Design, and New York University. @johannah_herr

Title: American War Rugs series

Herr continues her exploration of the narrative strategies of Afghan War Rugs but in 3-dimensional tufting, creating forms of rug-like rubble that fracture the traditional flat imagery and explores the aesthetics of demolition.

Title: The Bundle House series

In his Bundle House series, Smith creates large-scale maps, where hybrid landscapes encompass specific times and locations throughout the African diaspora.

Sophia-Yemisi Adeyemo-Ross (she/her)

Adeyemo-Ross has exhibited work in the XL Catlin Art Prize Travelling Exhibition: San Francisco, Chicago, NY; Office & Gallery in Los Angeles, CA; The Manetti Shrem Museum of Art in Davis, CA; and the Muskegon Museum of Art in Muskegon, MI. Additionally, she is a recipient of the Lazuli Residency, the New York Academy of Art, and is currently a finalist for The Bennet Prize. @sophia.yemisi.adeyemo.ross

Sophia-Yemisi Adeyemo-Ross paints portraits of individuals from archival photographs into imagined landscapes. She collages painted paper pieces to envision scenes of liberation wherein ancestral agricultural practices are restored and Black/Indigenous communities exercise sovereignty over their land, lives, and collective care.
