Are you interested in the intersection of theater and cinematography? This innovative and experimental course explores the boundaries between filmmaking, cinematography, and black box theater to produce a compelling film that will be screened for the Brooklyn public.
We’ll solicit and choose 5 one-act scripts of up to 10 minutes in length from New York-based scriptwriters and playwrights. Next, we will select 12 participants to become the producers, cinematographers, sound engineers, and editors to learn the cinematographic art of capturing a theatrical performance.
With the close guidance of a professional theater director, lighting technician, and seasoned actors, participants will refine and shape each theatrical performance into a compelling and unique film piece that only BRIC can deliver.
Certification courses are for Brooklyn residents only. Not a Brooklyn resident? No problem! Feel free to register for any of our non-certification courses.
We recommend that all applicants be well versed in the following before applying for this intensive.
