with special guest Phosphorescent

We are buzzing with excitement for the return of Brooklyn's hometown heroes to the Bandshell. Having six albums under their belts, The National have only gotten better with age. With lead singer Matt Berninger's smooth, melancholic vocals mixed with the orchestral resonance of the band, they continually distill soaring, slightly-tortured, gorgeous anthemic rock that can send you into a deep sadness, but one that you actually enjoy. Kind of like doing a shot of whiskey by yourself. Their latest masterpiece, Trouble Will Find Me, lightened the mood a bit and found its way onto many of the Best Album lists of 2013 including Rolling Stone's who gushed, "...on the best record of their career, they pare back that richly ornamental sound to reveal its black-candy pop core."

Belly up to the Bandshell for this epic evening where they will be joined by another Celebrate Brooklyn! favorite Phosphorescent.
