Brooklyn’s own Big Thief returns to the Bandshell after a performance in 2017—this time for a Benefit Concert.

Lead singer and guitarist Adrianne Lenker’s “unequivocal, instinctive and deeply personal songs earned the band a spot on esteemed indie label Saddle Creek's roster, and its album Masterpiece established it as a breakout act of 2016.” (NPR) In 2019, the band—featuring Buck Meek (guitar, backing vocals), Max Oleartchik (bass), and James Krivchenia (drums)—released several singles and two albums, including U.F.O.F. and Two Hands.

With raw power and intimacy, the two albums work together, with recording on U.F.O.F. taking place in a cabin studio in the woods in Washington State, while Two Hands was recorded 30 miles west of El Paso, a stone’s throw from the Mexican border, and surrounded by vast desert. The two projects fold themselves gracefully into Big Thief’s impressive discography, as the group’s body of work grows deeper and more inspiring with each new album.

Experience these sister albums, and then some, as Big Thief comes back to Brooklyn for a Benefit Concert this summer.

Philly's power pop band Sheer Mag opens.

Big Thief has partnered with PLUS1 to support forest restoration efforts and defend the rights of immigrants and refugees.
