FAMILY CONCERT
Promotional Partner
The Bandshell will turn into the biggest family dance party in Brooklyn with RICH MEDINA, “one of the most in-demand DJs out there, capable of turning any type of crowd into a frenzy” (Philly Voice) spinning grooves old and new, and local favorites SHAREEF KEYES & THE GROOVE, who have built a buzz around New York for their high energy, crowd captivating live performances, putting on a show guaranteed to get little feet moving.
Rich Medina has been a nightlife trailblazer for more than two decades, with regular parties all over NYC and Philadelphia including Fun, Lil’ Ricky’s Rib Shack, Open (a collaboration with Q-Tip), Jump N’ Funk (a dance party celebrating Fela Kuti), Happy Feet (with Bobbito Garcia), What the Funke (with DJ Spinna), and more. He has also spun at shows by the likes of Lauryn Hill, De La Soul, Erykah Badu, Seun Kuti, Tony Allen, Nathan Haines, Roy Ayers, Gil Scott-Heron, The Roots, Jill Scott, Antibalas, Zap Mama, and Femi Kuti, among many others.
Shareef Keyes is a Brooklyn-based aficionado of funk with good vibes to spare. "Spreading happiness through funk music" is his humble mission statement, and, as those who have experienced the fervor of his shows firsthand can attest, he stays relentlessly on mission.
Plus, join us for a special pop-up art activity with our friends Genesis Motor America Foundation, in partnership with BRIC's school-based arts education program.
