Ever-experimental artist Juana Molina is known for creating distinct and bewitching music that defies genre. Using looping technology to layer propulsive guitar strumming, clanging percussion, and her ethereal vocals on top of one another, she creates a whirling, hypnotic, and often gorgeous musical tapestries. With her latest album, Halo, Molina evokes everything from the occult to playful satire and “wields a sonic palette refined by two decades of experimentation to create a narrative defined not by words, but by mood.” (Pitchfork).

Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter and former Selebrities frontwoman Maria Usbeck opens up on the Stoop, performing songs from her solo debut album, Amparo.

Brooklynite DJ Bembona (Vibras NYC) spins her blend of Afro-Diasporadical sounds in the gallery.
