Join us for a conversation between noted artist and photographer Clifford Ross, and Eve-Laure Moros Ortega, Executive Producer of the ART21 Art in the Twenty-First Century acclaimed television series.

This public program takes place in conjunction with the exhibition Clifford Ross: Water | Waves | Wood on view in the gallery of BRIC House,which will serve as the stunning backdrop for this event.

ABOUT CLIFFORD ROSS:
Clifford Ross was born in New York City in 1952 and studied art and art history at Yale University. He began his artistic career as a painter and sculptor, creating his first photographic works in 1994. This led to Ross’ first major series, Hurricane Waves, beginning in 1996. Ross’ photographs are held in private collections and museums worldwide, including the Museum of Modern Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York City; the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles; and the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston. Recent works include a stained glass installation, The Austin Wall (2013), with architects Mack Scogin and Merrill Elam, for the U.S. Federal Courthouse in Austin, Texas, and a multimedia installation with Pan Gongkai, president of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, at the Zhejiang Art Museum in Hangzhou, China in 2014. Ross is a visiting artist at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts’ Interactive Telecommunications Program and serves as Chair of the Helen Frankenthaler Foundation. Ross is the author of The World of Edward Gorey (Abrams) and editor of Abstract Expressionism: Creators and Critics (Abrams).

ABOUT EVE-LAURE MOROS ORTEGA:
Eve-Laure Moros Ortega, Executive Producer of the ART21 Art in the Twenty-First Century television series, has worked in film and television for over 15 years on documentaries and independent feature films. Prior to her work onArt in the Twenty-First Century she worked on projects with Oscar-winning directors Deborah Dickson and Bill Fertik, MacArthur Fellow Yvonne Rainer, Amir Naderi, and Curious Pictures, among others. Moros Ortega received a B.A. in Art History and Political Science from Barnard College, where she was awarded honors for her work on postmodern art, and an M.A. in Cinema Studies from New York University. She has been a panelist for NYSCA and the NEH, and is also the Producer/Director of Made in Thailand, distributed by Women Make Movies. Made in Thailand, whose funders include the Soros Foundation and Paul Robeson fund, earned a nomination of best documentary short from the International Documentary Association.

Venue Information:

The Stoop at BRIC House is a public cultural gathering space featuring free, drop-in programming, and offering a place to sit, observe, and participate in multi-disciplinary work.
