Come join Francesca Harper and the Francesca Harper Project (FHP) for a night of dance and song that is all about you! FHP will move through human stories focusing on gender, race, personal history, and love. You will find yourself on a journey with FHP and as the protagonist of your own story. FHP will perform The Look of Feeling: Chapter II: Existential Kabaret  as well as an interactive expansion of this piece.

In The Look of Feeling : Chapter II : Existential Kabaret, Francesca Harper deconstructs memories from her childhood with her mother Denise Jefferson, who fearlessly directed The Alvin Ailey School for over 25 years. Jefferson nurtured the institution, and its artists onto international acclaim. In Existential Kabaret, Harper sings and dances through a landscape of childhood memories. The Existential Kabaret features songs spanning the 1930s to the 1970s interspersed with writings by Pulitzer Prize writer Margo Jefferson. The piece also illuminates Harper, a bold choreographer in discovery of her own legacy.

This public program takes place in conjunction with the exhibition Clifford Ross: Water | Waves | Wood exhibition, which will serve as the stunning backdrop for this performance.
