Inclusive and welcoming programming that encourage creativity and discovery. Join us for dance classes, gaming, art-making and other participatory activities, culminating in a raucous all-ages dance party.

For our September House Party, compose images, stories, and songs to remember the past, create the present, and imagine the future.

Drawing inspiration from our Brooklyn Photographs exhibition, BRIC Teaching Artists will guide you in creating your own stop motion animation photo montage of Brooklyn past and present.

Art-making Activity: Fashion Forward
Create your own fashion forward futuristic looks using glow in the dark and fluorescent materials.  Participants will work with a Teaching Artist to create watches, sunglasses, necklaces, bracelets and any other fun colorful futuristic accessory you can imagine.

Art-Making Activity: Pop-up Books
Tell your own story and learn how to make an illustrated book that jumps off the page.   Teaching Artists will demonstrate basic techniques to transform 2-D paper into a dynamic 3-D pop-up story book.

Art-Making: 3-D City of the Future
Contribute your own sculpture to our collaborative mixed-media city scape installation.  Use L.E.D lights, cardboard and colorful masking tape to create your own model car, building, trees and other important components to activate our model city.

Students from the NYU Tandon School of Engineering will present Augmented and Virtual Reality projects that feature concepts including being immersed in a music video, cooking traditional Chinese dish, animation, and Game of Thrones!

Venue Information:

BRIC House is Brooklyn’s cultural living room: a 40,000 square foot multi-disciplinary arts and media complex in the former Strand Theatre, where emerging and established artists can create work that deepens their practice and engages the diverse communities of the borough. 

Beginning Nov. 1, 2022, attendees of any BRIC House programming will no longer have to show proof of vaccination or a negative test to enter the building. Masks are encouraged but not required in all BRIC operated spaces. If you have questions regarding this protocol, please email Safety@bricartsmedia.org. BRIC is committed to welcoming people of all abilities. BRIC's main entrance, located on Rockwell Street, is fully accessible. The Gallery level is accessible via a wheelchair lift. Portable FM assistive listening devices are available for programs on the Stoop and in the Ballroom upon request.
