Brooklyn’s best family house parties continue with fun and interactive activities that encourage creativity and discovery. Hands on art-making, gaming and technology exploration, storytelling and live performances all culminate in a raucous dance party for all ages.

BRIC is turning 40, and we’re throwing a party! Join us for an afternoon of celebration featuring art-making, live performances, and other activities highlighting the artistic and cultural diversity that makes BRIC a fun place to gather with friends and strangers alike. The day will culminate in an all-ages dance party, presented by Party Like Brooklyn, Baby.

A Performance by The Knights
Join us for an intimate chamber performance with BRIC Artists-in-Residence, The Knights, a GRAMMY nominated, Brooklyn-based orchestral collective dedicated to transforming the concert experience. Led by brothers Colin and Eric Jacobsen, and flexible in size and repertory, The Knights engage listeners and defy boundaries with programs that showcase the players’ roots in the classical tradition and passion for musical discovery. The Knights are proud to bring their Home Season to BRIC for a third year, partnering to grow orchestral music in Brooklyn. The Knights are Artists-in-Residence at BRIC, rehearsing works that will be performed at BRIC House and elsewhere and engaging with the Brooklyn community. This residency at BRIC is part of The Knights' ongoing NYC residencies program, a three-year initiative funded by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation to help them connect even more closely with their home community.

Move your family dance party from the living room to the BRIC House Ballroom and dance it out! Party Like Brooklyn, Baby presents an after­noon dance party featuring real music spun and mixed by real DJs blend­ing clas­sic disco tunes from the 70s, & 80s with today’s hottest dance tunes that creates a child-proof dis­co for tod­dlers, pre-schoolers, and par­ents look­ing to let loose!

Venue Information:

BRIC House is Brooklyn’s cultural living room: a 40,000 square foot multi-disciplinary arts and media complex in the former Strand Theatre, where emerging and established artists can create work that deepens their practice and engages the diverse communities of the borough. 

Beginning Nov. 1, 2022, attendees of any BRIC House programming will no longer have to show proof of vaccination or a negative test to enter the building. Masks are encouraged but not required in all BRIC operated spaces. If you have questions regarding this protocol, please email Safety@bricartsmedia.org. BRIC is committed to welcoming people of all abilities. BRIC's main entrance, located on Rockwell Street, is fully accessible. In addition the main floor of BRIC House has an accessible, all-gender bathroom. The BRIC Media Center, located on the 2nd floor, is accessible via elevator. The Gallery level is accessible via a wheelchair lift. Portable FM assistive listening devices are available for programs on the Stoop and in the Ballroom upon request.
