An electrifying blend of Afro-fusion, funk, ska, pop, and traditional Zimbabwe rhythms, Mokoomba kicks-off BRIC House Sessions with a blazing dance party! Drawing inspiration from the Tonga people and their vibrant life, music, and culture, Mokoomba is regarded as one of Africa’s best touring acts; “a band that deserves to be seen live” (NPR). After multiple tours across Africa, Europe, and Asia, they put on a tight show with excellent musicianship, powerful vocals, and fun choreography that leaves sweaty audiences wanting more. Mandingo Ambassadors will start the party with their Guinean Afro-jazz grooves on the stoop.
Brooklynite DJ Bembona (Vibras NYC) spins her blend of Afro-Diasporadical sounds in the gallery.
