SHARE! : Resources for Joy

Location: Fort Greene Park, at the bottom of the Monument stairs (nearest accessible entrance: North Portland / Myrtle Avenue)
Rain location: Ingersoll Cornerstone Community Center, 177 Myrtle Ave, 11217

Join us for dance, music, and poetry by neighbors and artists; a participatory altar to the ancestors; and a celebration of joy, summer, and community.

Featuring:
Najee Omar, Poet, Educator, and ICAC Artist-in-Residence (2018-2021)
Freakquencee – Hip-Hop/Funk/Soul artist
ICAC members, youth artists, and special guests

Celebrating the release of Resources for Joy, a community-sourced guide published by the ICAC. Copies will be available at the SHARE!, and digital copies are available for download. Designed in collaboration with Yazmany Arboleda.

“Joy is the feeling of music playing any and everywhere. When we say joy, what we mean is turning toward the sun. Or whatever makes you warm. & feel good. & gives you energy… Joy is to be kept. Nurtured. And grown. It is what you deserve. Joy is yours.” – Najee Omar, Resources for Joy.

Please bring a photo or memento to contribute to the ICAC altar, to commemorate and honor all our community has lost during the pandemic.
You can reclaim your item at the end of the evening!

The ICAC is proudly supported by program partners:
